Microbrew and Music Festival

Heading back to Traverse City, MI to perform at the Traverse City Microbrew and Music Festival. You can find all the information about the festival here at www.porterhouseproductions.com. Had a great time up in Mammoth at the Mammoth Music Festival with Train and many others.

The Microbrew Festival is going to be full of a few bands that I grew up around and listening too. Down The Line, and Bump, two bands I have opened up for before and became close with over the last few years will be at the festival as well. It’s going to be a great time, lots of good beer and music, and just happy to be able to see family and friends.

Little Victories

I’d be lying if I said that starting over in a new market and city isn’t tough. It’s been a lot of work over the last nine months figuring out where my music is going. I recently just saw the placement I had for “75 and Sunny Skies” and “Spaces” on the show “Destination Golf” on the golf channel. I couldn’t be happier with it. It was a major goal of mine to get songs from the “Spaces” album placed on television and it happened. It’s time to move forward from “Spaces”. I no longer play with the players who are on “Spaces”. Of course I miss them but everyone has moved on to other things, as have I. This weekend I’m excited to be playing with Sam Johnson on Bass, and David Esau on drums at Gordon Biersch in Mission Valley San Diego. It’s gonna be a great time, and it’s going to be great creating music with these two accomplished players.

If you are around San Diego come on out the show. It takes place this Friday at Gordon Biersch from 9pm to midnight. Good Times

Shows back in Michigan

Right now I’m scheduled to play at few great venues back home in Northern Michigan. So far gigs are posted and new ones could be added over the next few days. It’s going to be great to see everyone again. It’s only been seven months but it seems a lot longer than that.

This week I am working hard and getting all the info for the shows nailed down. I will have everything posted here on the website and on the Facebook page. The myspace page is now under construction and getting a new look.

Fiesta Cinco De Mayo

Yes I’ll be playing at the Fiesta Cinco De Mayo this Saturday May 1st from 11am to 12:30pm. I’ll be testing out my spanish version of “I Can’t Make Everybody Happy” but probably not. I’m working on it though. It’s gonna be a great weekend and there is a lot going on all over this Saturday. I’ll be performing on the Corona Light stage. Delays in Posts, and New Shows

Hola to all. I apologize about my lack of posts recently. As you might have seen I have been adding shows and things are starting to pick up. I am doing a little recording, and will keep doing so over the next few months. I am coming back to Michigan for a couple of shows starting on May 20th. I will be playing at Kilkenny’s and I have a ton of details in the works but all info should be nailed down by next week.

Songwriting has been going well, and I’m about to get a new mix back of the song “Closer” that Levi Britton and I recorded back in September. I am trying to get a small sample cd or EP finished to include with my Kilkenny’s show, I don’t know if I will have it by then, but you never know.

I am writing posts daily on the Facebook Fan Page. It’s a easier to keep people up to date on last minute shows.

Also my new ad is out in San Diego Style Weddings Magazine. I will be doing weddings year round now, and am very excited to be working with this great company. Check out www.sandiegostyleweddings.com.

So Cal Music Live Finals Today 1:20pm

Today is a big day and unfortunately the time slots have been changed again for the So Cal Music Live competition. I am competing in the Make Acoustic Category and my slot is 1:20pm. Demo Season

I have currently been recording a few acoustic demo’s lately with a studio here in San Diego, and also recording a few things myself. The past few months have helped me take a step back from music and help get a new perspective on a few things. The show format is a different out here. There aren’t any four hour deck gigs going on and most of the venues have three to four acts a night. The four hour gigs use to be grueling but now I have an appreciation for them. When doing showcases you have 45 min to an hour to play your best and then the night is over or the next act comes up. Unfortunately that means if your fans show up late they will most likely miss half the show.

I’m excited about my upcoming show announcements this week. I have a bunch bookings to nail down and the will take me back to Michigan. It will be good to see everyone again, and play some music with my good friends.

Tonights Show Moved to Tuesday

Another Show falls victim to inconsistent weather. This show will be moved to Tuesday the 23rd from 2pm to 6pm. Tomorrow night I will be performing at the So Cal Live Music awards up in Riverside, CA. The show is at the Coffee Depot and I’ll be competing along with 7 other performers. My slot is at 9pm. Gonna play hard.

Merchandise Store is up!

The merchandise store is now open and we are using Paypal to take care of transactions. We are slowly adding more merchandise to our catalog but it’s great to have product up besides just CD’s. We are also using fan pics as our models for the shirts. So if you have any pics of yourself, friends, or family wearing a Mike Moran Music t-shirt. Please send it to us and we’ll use it in our store.
